Samsung’s shared MICOM control platform across ranges, ovens, and cooktops uses this same code family for rapid-rise and ventilation problems, so the trigger is either a genuine airflow restriction or a sensor reading that no longer tracks reality.
What Usually Causes C-24
- Blocked or restricted oven vents, often from spills, foil liners, or debris trapped in the vent channel
- A temperature sensor (RTD probe) that has drifted out of calibration or lost partial contact with its bracket
- Wiring or connector issues between the sensor and the main control board
- A control board that is misreading a normal heat cycle as abnormally fast
What You Can Check Before Calling for Service
Power the range down at the breaker for a full minute, then restart it to see if the code clears. Open the oven and visually confirm nothing is blocking the vent opening at the back of the cavity, and remove any foil or bakeware sitting near it. If C-24 returns as soon as you start a bake or broil cycle, the sensor or its wiring is the more likely culprit, and continued use risks inconsistent cooking temperatures or the oven cutting a cycle short.
