C-22 on a Samsung range falls in the same temperature-sensor family as C-20 and C-21, part of the MICOM control system shared across NE and NX ranges. It indicates the oven’s temperature sensor circuit is reporting a reading the control board considers out of expected range.
What can lead to C-22
- A temperature probe that has aged out of calibration after years of heating and cooling cycles
- The probe physically contacting a rack, the oven wall, or bakeware, which skews its reading
- A connector at the sensor or along its wire run that has loosened from repeated thermal expansion
- A control board issue misreading signal from an otherwise intact sensor
What to check
- Look at the sensor probe near the back of the oven cavity and make sure it isn’t bent toward a rack or touching the cavity wall
- Remove any oversized bakeware or racks positioned unusually close to the sensor before your next bake
- Cut power at the breaker for a few minutes, restore it, and run a short preheat to see whether the code reappears right away
- Pay attention to whether baked goods have seemed under- or over-cooked recently, since a drifting sensor often shows up in results before it triggers a code
Repositioning a probe that’s touching a rack sometimes clears C-22 without further work. If the sensor is clear of obstructions and the code still returns after a reset, testing the probe’s resistance against the manufacturer’s expected values is the reliable way to confirm a failed sensor rather than replacing parts on assumption.
