LC on a Samsung washer falls in the same water-level and leak-detection family as LE and 1E — the control board has detected either a water level it can’t reconcile with the cycle or an indication that water is escaping the system somewhere it shouldn’t be.
What the leak-detection system is watching for
Samsung washers monitor water level against the amount actually being pumped in and use that comparison, along with the pressure sensor’s ongoing readings, to catch a leak before it becomes a larger problem. LC generally traces back to:
- A door or drum seal that’s no longer sealing tightly, allowing water to seep out during the wash or spin
- A loose hose connection at the back of the washer, at the pump, or along an internal line that’s letting water escape internally
- A pressure sensor or its air hose reporting an inconsistent water level that the board interprets as a leak condition
- A drain pump seal that has begun to weep, letting small amounts of water out during the cycle
What to check first
Power the washer off at the breaker and check the floor around and underneath the unit for any sign of actual water — even a small amount confirms a real leak rather than a sensor misreading. Inspect the door gasket on front-load models for tears, trapped debris, or detergent buildup that could be preventing a full seal, and check that the drain and fill hoses at the back are fully seated and undamaged.
If no visible water is present and LC still appears, the pressure sensor or an internal hose connection is the more likely cause, and tracing that requires opening the cabinet — not something to pursue without experience, since misdiagnosing a leak problem can mean missing an actual water source.
